The Aspen Ideas Festival brings some of our current biggest thinkers to Aspen Colorado.
Secretary of State John Kerry; Dr. J. Craig Venter, former First Lady Laura Bush, Dr. Ka Chun Yu, Curator of Space Science, Denver Museum of Nature and Science; Vice President Joe Biden, Dr. Lisa Randall, theoretical physicist, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, and Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, are some of the 350 presenters at the Aspen Ideas Festival held in Aspen CO.
While many events are open to pass holders only, the Aspen Ideas Festival offers public events throughout the week with admission ranging from $10 to $150. The public programs include “The Choice 2016”, “Global Affairs: Our Age of Insecurity”; “Reimaging Capitalism, The University at a Crossroads”, “Arts: Culture and Identity”, “Mysteries of the Universe”, “Spotlight Health”, and “Viewpoints.” A couple of my favorites:
“Interactive Tour of the Universe” – Dr. Ka Chun Yu, admission $10
“Beer and Politics with Governor John Hickenlooper, admission $25
“Viewpoints – Afternoon of Conversation” with Malek Jandali, Christine Lagarde, Yuri Milner, Satya Nadella, Jane Harman, Mitt Romney, Bryan Stevenson and others. Admission $150.
The festival ends with a conversation between Vice-President Joe Biden and Walter Isaacson, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, the organization behind the Aspen Ideas Festival. While this is not a public event, it will be live-streamed for all to listen.
This is one of the amazing festivals Aspen offers all summer long. We are so fortunate to live in Aspen Glen, just down the road from Aspen!
