Bighorn sheep are a springtime treat for those traveling from Basalt along the Frying Pan River Road, Bob spotted this herd while returning from fly fishing (by all accounts a good day on the Frying Pan). Very impressive creatures and well adapted to life in Rocky Mountains. Part of the allure of living in the Roaring Fork Valley and Frying Pan River valley is the mountain and river valley scenery coupled with wildlife. The Frying Pan River valley is exceptional on both counts! If you are interested in real estate along this stretch of road or in the quaint town of Basalt, I am happy to help. Bring hiking shoes or waders if you wish!
