I captured several photos of the elk herd that visited Aspen Glen last week. Elk are camera shy – thanks to my zoom lens I was able to snap this photo. Snowfall has been plentiful this season (over 117% of average state-wide) and the deep snow in the high country brings the elk to the valley. Several days ago we watched from a window as a pair of bald eagle flew over the river. The two and a half miles of Roaring Fork River which meander through Aspen Glen, help to create a wildlife sanctuary both winter and summer.
